Where do I buy Ultimate Gear for presents?

A comment or two ago, Zip!, a writer of another blog suggested that we accumulate links of Ultimate gear for sale on the web. Zip! your present from me to you is such a post (plus your idea is a good one). Please forward links (or contact info) for Ultimate gear for sale from your high school, college, club team, national team, or company in either the comments or an email (jamieson dot peter at gmail dot com). I'll try to keep this list up to date.

My personal list of jerseys wants includes a Sub Zero jersey (I lost my -10 somehow), Chewbacca Defense, Downtown Brown, Goat (the new one), Bodhi, and El Diablo. That's only a small batch. Some of the logos you'll see over the coming weeks will make you want even more jerseys.

Rainbow Jerseys - Old Ultimate knew what it was doing

First it was red, and now it's looking like black is the jersey colour for those of us who want to be aggressive teams. Jersey colours and logos are always fun things to talk about. I guess tiedye had it all.

Warning: this post has less of point and flow than usual...

I've heard good and bad things about Goat's and Sub Zero's jerseys this year. In terms of pushing the jersey into the world of fashion, I've been impressed with what Toronto has pumped out, with the aid of VC. I've, also, been impressed with Sub Zero's and Doublewide's artistic jereys. This is one of those things we can diversify ourselves from other sports, and I like the art work and variety that Ultimate is starting to get into.

Pictured Above: Japanese shorts: I wonder what affect blue has.

For those of you who remember a few years ago I ran the logo contest. Well, for those of you hated it, I'm going to do it again. For those of you who loved it, I'm doing it again. For those of you who could care less, I'm doing it again. I learned many good tips from last time, but I'm open to suggestions on how to run it.

Finally, for those of you who are worried about the earth being destroyed Wednesday, I saw a talk yesterday that verifies (to a high probability) that we won't be swallowed up in a black hole.

Battle for the Best Ultimate Jersey

Similar to last year I'm hoping to have a poll battle, but this time for our favourite Ultimate jersey. Lots of you weren't thrilled with the Logo Battle, but a bunch of us had a great time voting week in week out, and watching our team logos lose to various top team logos.

Don't worry. I'm not going to run the jersey battle during the fall series and I'll leave it for the off season, but I need to start planning and getting submissions. So, please e-mail me your jersey submissions in picture form similar to the photo below:

The basic rules:

  1. I can change the rules.
  2. Photo format for your team ultimate jersey
    1. Front and back shots of the jersey (one or two photos)
    2. Can include both light and dark, but will be considered one submission
    3. No game action shots
    4. No nudity
    5. JPG format
    6. Should show the jersey well (the above photo is not the best example of this, but not the worst)
    7. I have the right to not except a photo, but will e-mail you back on why. This will hopefully allow time for resubmission
  3. One submission per team
The basic format of the contest:
  • Single elimination with possibility of wild cards.
  • It will depend on the number of submissions.
That's the basic plan. So send your submissions to jamieson dot peter at gmail dot com. I'll start the battle in November accepting submissions until the first round is complete.
